Hi Everyone!
Firstly, to introduce myself. My name is Hollie, and I'm a BA(Hons) Fine Art Student at The University of Central Lancashire. At this point I have just finished my first year, progressing into the second. I like to think I'm a Conceptual Artist, and I can draw stuff too...
This first post is all about why I created this blog. I've found in my time as an art student there are so many misconceptions about what we do and why we do it. I just basically want to answer any questions on being an art student, from school all the way to university, and possibly the REAL art world. I'm no expert, and I feel that I'm just starting out on this journey too, but hopefully I can dispel some rumors (yes, I can make money from art, and no,just because I can draw does not mean I'm drawing your dog for free!)
I'd like to share some tricks I've learned, and hear from you lovely people if there's any techniques I can help you improve on - just don's ask me about Photoshop because the best I could do is direct you to YouTube! I will show you my work as I progress through my education, and any work I also do on the side. At some point, I would LOVE to be able to promote some of your work on here for FREE, maybe once a month, when I have the blog up and running properly, but more on that another time.
And thats the first post done!
